Landaw /:akes Sector Inspection in ,libsence of Captain Utke Company 1587 was inspected twice last Monday. Chaplin Harrod made his bi-monthly inspection of the Educational and 1:Telfare program d Monday morning.He found many things that needed bringing up but ,xpressud his pleasure at meeting a laarked improvement in many ways. Lt. Landlaw, who is ctini.�; Sector Commander while Captain Utke is on leave, inspected camp SCS-2 Monday afternoon. Mr. Stuckey, Educational Adviser from the Valparaiso camp accompanied Lt. Lanlaw. QUARANTINE LIFTED TUESDAY EVENING The Scarlet Fever quarantine under which Company 1587 has been operating for the past two weeks was lifted late Tuesd4y afternorm. The men all had a jolly time on their first night out of camp for two woeksT There were no classes that evening as the ban was not lifted in time to get in touch eith the teachers. This was a very welcome incident to the men. Company 1567 is more fortunate than some of the other camps in the district we understand. Sellers and Mr. Eubank were both ouccC,ssful in getting a pheasant this year also. Some of the enrollees who are working around the drainage ditches have also had cut . bit of success trplping Muskrats One rink has boon caught, All in all game seems to be plentiful, This alone can be attrihut3d to the Stt,t(, C-nscrvatiAl Dep,:rtment and to many of the CCC camps who help them in their work, 9ASKETBALL TEAM REr31P'S PRLCTICE AFTER QUARANTINE The Camp Basketball Team resumed practice Thursd-y night after a two weeks lay-off while the quarantine was in force. About fifteen men turned out for Thursday nights practice,.',11 seem in pretty good shape and give promise of turning into a very formablo aggregation. HE THAT OVERCOMETH SHALL INHERIT :,LL THINGS; 2,ND I 7= BE HIS GOD, AND HE SHALL 3E MY SON. ROBERT S-'ITH GETS FINE POSITION Is Selected to Take Place in Cashiers Office at Purdue Robert Smith, who has boon working in the Office of Company 1587 as an assistant clerk received word Monday that he had boon chosen for a posit- ion as a clerk in the Adniistration Building at Purdue University. He took over his new duties Tuesday. Robert took to University examinati-n in campition with others seeking the position and came out on top. Everybody in Cop- pany 1587 congratulates him and wishes him succcss in his now endeavor. PLAN DINNER FOR LiF,AYETTE BUSINESS GROUP Twenty-five Men Expected For Nonn meal Monday Company 1587 will play host to a group of Lafayette business men Monday noon. The group was invited to bring then closer to an understanding of the workings of a CCC camp and to the advantages the mon in the camps have. A special dinner will be served, followed by short talks by LtoBean and a representative of the SCS service. A tour of the camp is planned after the meal and the talks
