A total of 610 divot diggers varying in talent from the duffer to the near-pro have signed to shoot in the 18-hole blind handicap event. Last fall's record entry of 519 has been completely overshadowed. The golfers will invade Grandview in two waves. Friday's Sept. 23 group of 122 will be Nite Owl employes, and Saturday's Sept. 24 horde of 488 will be the day men. In this tourney the blind (Continued on page 2, col. 5) Clan Lists Changes For D-R Phone Book With this issue The Clan starts a regular service of listing changes and additions of Delco-Remy telephone extension numbers. All those using D-R phones are asked to make these changes and additions in their directories in order to save time for themselves and the switchboard operators. One major change in ex-(Continued on page 2, col. 6) Chicago, here we come 700 to attend tool exhibit Tomorrow morning, Sept. 10, upwards to 700 members of Delco-Remy supervision will motor to Chicago by chartered busses to tour The Machine Tool Exposition being held in the International Amphitheatre. Included in the 700 will be representatives from every section of Delco-Remy which is involved in designing, building, maintaining and buying of machinery and others who supervise the use of this equipment in the manufacturing of our products. There will be engineers, designers, foremen and general foremen, assistant plant superintendents and plant superintendents. Because Delco-Remy uses so many and so wide a variety of machine tools it is believed this Saturday trip will be of great present and future value to the D-R people responsible for using our machinery. The Exposition is expected to attract upwards to 130,000 manufacturing a n d metalworking men from the U.S.A. and foreign countries during its 11 days in Chicago. Over 1,000 of the very latest machine tools, valued at $25 million, will be seen in actual operation. Killbuck Event Features Free Pony, Kids Day Those two big and wonderful days which have become known as Killbuck Park Fall Roundup�and attracted up to 9,000 persons�will be held again on the weekend of Oct. 1 and 2. As usual, the horse, pony and burro show will be staged on the Sunday Oct. 2 date. Entry blanks will appear soon in all Information Racks. The Saturday Oct. 1 date will be different than ever and designed as a children's delight. Muriel Waggoner, Delco-Remy's No. 1 woman employe in point of service on the salaried payroll, last Friday was honored at a retirement reception in Plant One. Hundreds of her friends "dropped in" to wish her happiness and health. She was with us for 43 years and 8 months. Among several of the greetings written and wired to her was a letter from former GM President C. E. Each a full hour program, Stagecoach West will be aired on Tuesdays, 9 to 10 p.m. EST, starting Oct. 4, and The Islander, on Sundays, 9:30 to 10:30 p.m. EST, beginning Oct. 2. Day� Delco-Remy once again played host to a number of area school teachers on Sept. 1. The occasion was the annual Business-Industrial-Education Day sponsored by the Anderson Chamber of Commerce. Hundreds of local educators participate in No. 1 Gal on Salaried Service Roll Retires After 43 Years Fired Up Suggesters Collect $38,774 in Two Months�July and August were about as "hot" for sugges- tion awards as the weather has been during the past two weeks. D-R people in the Anderson and Muncie plants during these months earned $38,774.70 for their ideas. This compares with $75,392.30 of previous six months. Shown below and at left are only a few of the people who benefited from the Employe Suggestion Plan during the past two months. Pictures of others were shown in previous Clans. Leading this group is a Muncie Delco Battery young man, John Sheridan, shown in shirtsleeves in the picture at the left. He is being congratulated by Supervisors John Buskirk (center) and Ralph Corbin for the idea which paid a whopping $2,106.24. The men and women pictured immediately below are both hourly and salaried employes who have been in on the recent suggestion award pay off. From left they are D. W.
